Dr. Charles Ugwuoke CEO & Lead Speech-Language Pathologist​

Charles Ugwuoke is a licensed and result-driven Speech-Language Pathologist. He holds a Master’s degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology and brings eight years of hands-on experience to his clinical practice. He is deeply committed to continuous professional development and is passionate about empowering his clients to achieve their optimal communication outcomes.

Clinical Expertise

Charles is highly skilled in conducting comprehensive assessments, designing individualized treatment plans, and utilizing cutting-edge therapeutic techniques. His expertise spans across pediatric and adult populations, successfully treating a wide range of communication and swallowing challenges, including:

  • Apraxia of speech, articulation disorders, and developmental language disorders.
  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism.
  • Dysphagia and voice disorders treatment.
  • Receptive and expressive aphasia, alongside cognitive-communication therapy.
  • Fluency disorders management and behavioral management.

Leadership & Experience

Charles founded the Sunset Speech and Language Resource Center in October 2021. As CEO, he develops and enforces policies to maintain high standards of care and safe practices. He consistently builds positive relationships with clients, families, and external partners to ensure effective multidisciplinary collaboration.

Additionally, he serves as a Consultant Speech-Language Pathologist across prominent medical facilities in Abuja, including Alliance Hospital , Nisa Premier Hospital , and Habib Medical Clinic. Across all his roles, he provides high-level clinical expertise while strictly adhering to ethical standards and patient confidentiality.

Education & Global Certifications

Charles’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Jos and a Master of Science in Audiology and Speech Pathology from the University of Ibadan. To provide world-class care, he continually updates his expertise with international and specialized certifications:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credentialed by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, USA.
  • Behavior Instructor for Autism certification from Behavior Frontier.
  • Level 4 Speech Therapy Course completion from the Center of Excellence, UK.
  • Cleft Lip Palate Speech Therapy training via Smile Train and SPAAN.

Professional Affiliations

He is an active and recognized member of leading professional bodies, including the Speech Pathologists and Audiologists Association in Nigeria (SPAAN) and the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB).
